The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency ended on May 11, 2023. What this means for you: Government regulations now require a doctor’s order for all COVID-19 testing. Please ensure you have a prescription from your doctor before scheduling your COVID-19 tests. Private insurances are no longer required to cover COVID-19 tests without cost sharing. Please check your coverage health plan for laboratory testing costs and requirements for prior-authorization or other forms of medical management. State Medicaid programs must continue to provide coverage without cost sharing until September 30, 2024. Medicare beneficiaries who are enrolled in Part B will continue to have coverage without cost sharing for laboratory-conducted COVID-19 tests when ordered by a provider.
Laboratories will no longer be required to report on the results of conducted COVID-19 tests.

PCR Nasal Swab

PCR is the standard of viral testing and may be required prior to receiving certain surgeries, traveling, or returning to work after a positive viral test. Premier offers both the less invasive Nares test using a shallow swab to collect a sample from the nose, and the Nasopharyngeal Swab in which we swab deep within the nasal passage.

The less invasive PCR Saliva Testing is available for patients who are receiving certain surgeries, traveling, or returning to work after a positive viral test. Samples are collected by spitting saliva into a tube.
Antibody Test

COVID-19 Antibody Testing can help identify a previous infection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Samples are collected as a simple blood draw and should be taken at least 14 days after exposure, or 7 days after symptoms end.
Antigen Test

COVID-19 Antigen Tests use a shallow swab to collect a sample from the nose. As the fastest test available, results are received generally within 2 hours.
