Tactics

For the short answer on how to improve your health as a woman, learn to eat right and exercise properly. But that’s the case for everybody. More specifically, several areas of self-maintenance are worth considering for the conscientious female:

  • Cosmetics
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Hormonal Supplements
  • Synthetic Foodstuffs
  • Unhealthy Relationships

Cosmetics

Paraffin wax–it can cause carcinogens in the home, which lead to cancer. The American Cancer Society has also issued certain warnings about cosmetics. Generally, relying on cosmetics can ultimately have pretty negative fallout. Even natural, organic substances constantly applied to the face and skin seep through the skin into the bloodstream. Additionally, they clog the pores, causing acne, moles, and more–depending on where you get the cosmetics. Some of the most effective cosmetics have moral ambiguity defining them too; like products designed from adipose tissue reaped from humans. Fat, human or animal, is often listed as “cholesterol” under beauty product ingredients.

Pharmaceuticals

Today’s culture has a pill for everything, and they’re virtually all bad. Anything that isn’t organic, but is either produced in a factory or a lab through a combination of chemicals, is liable to be bad for you. That’s just a good rule of thumb! Natural substances, or “drugs”, can be more “safe”; though they’re still not totally recommendable. Even alcohol is healthy in proper doses–but who is temperate? While a glass of wine a day has grape tannins that are good for your heart, a bottle a day dehydrates you and impacts your heart as well as your liver.

Women are often prescribed pharmaceuticals for a variety of conditions. What do these drugs do? Well, basically, they “fuzz out” a symptom which comes from a larger condition. The majority of depression comes from an external source that stimulates a psychological change. Dampening the impact of that psychological change doesn’t address what caused it; it just defrays the moment where that cause is confronted. Meanwhile, pharmaceuticals put your hormonal and digestive system out of whack, and can lead to severe health conditions down the line.

Hormonal Supplements

Birth control increases the chances of some cancers while decreasing the chances for others. This throws your body out of whack so much you don’t get a menstrual cycle. That isn’t healthy!

Synthetic Foodstuffs

Avoid processed foods. Avoid preservatives. Eat natural foods, not GMOs–rats have been shown to develop tumors from GMO corn. If you’re on birth control, pharmaceuticals, and synthetically-derived cosmetics, GMOs could be the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Unhealthy Relationships

A bad relationship will knock you out psychologically, predicating food abuse, substance abuse, pharmaceutical use, and lack of resources which force you into eating foods like GMOs. Make him put a “ring on it”, and hold out until he does. Take your time. If you’re not taking birth control, you’ve got an added incentive to refrain from physicality. Don’t be fooled: sexual chemistry can be manifested; it’s not a black-and-white scenario.

It’s like riding a bike. Until you learn how, you’ll be awkward. A new bike may be hard to ride even if you’ve ridden before; but if you work with it a bit, you get the hang of it. Sex is more like that than a black-and-white, either/or compatibility. Compatibility is determined by willingness on the part of both partners to put their significant other ahead of themselves. If your man can’t wait, then he may be using you.

Rounded Out Health

If you eat right, exercise properly, avoid unhealthy cosmetics, avoid unhealthy substances, and avoid unhealthy relationships, you can actually do a substantial job of reducing your likelihood of contracting a variety of female health issues.
